Jul 06, 2017 The analog circuitry of Analog Four MKII has been thoroughly reworked and provides deep, clear and defined bass plus a more prominent analog overdrive/distortion effect. Integrating the Analog Four MKII with external gear and computers is easy thanks to dedicated audio outputs for each voice, two expression/CV inputs, and high bandwidth Overbridge.
Sharooz Raoofi of Sample Magic has released Principle Pleasure Studios, a collection of analog synthesizer multi-samples from his LA-based studio.
Principle Pleasure Studios is a freely downloadable sound library containing over 1 GB of royalty-free analog synth multi-samples. The samples are provided in WAV format. You can use them in virtually any digital audio workstation or sampler instrument available on the market.
According to Sharooz’s post on Facebook, he recorded these samples a while ago, just in case he was in a situation where he couldn’t access his favorite synthesizers. The samples can now be downloaded completely free of charge. Here’s more info about the library:
Working at my LA studio has been a privilege – sorely missed right now. A few years ago I multi-sampled my favorite synths and drum boxes (100+ of them) in the event that if ever I couldn’t get there, I’d have instant access. I’ve really enjoyed these sounds, they’re my go-to palette. Now feels an ideal time to share them. There are over 1GB of samples, all put through the best channel strips and converters around, unprocessed.
Like Sharooz, many sound designers and developers are releasing their products for free to help music producers stay at home and stay creative during the COVID-19 epidemic. We’ve seen some excellent freebies from Moog, Native Instruments, and others. Find all the freebie offers in our #StayAtHome article.
Principle Pleasure Studios is available for free download via WeTransfer. The download link will expire in seven days, so be quick and grab your free copy while the offer is still valid.
Free Analog Vst Plugins
The library doesn’t include any sampler mappings. This means that you will need to manually map out the sounds in your favorite sampler plugin. Thankfully, our reader Nako Music has created a free set of NI Kontakt mappings that you’ll find in the comments section below.

Native Instruments has announced that the Analog Dreams sound library for Kontakt 6 and Kontakt Player is available for free download until March 31st, 2020.
Analog Dreams is a collection of sampled sounds from various vintage synthesizers manufactured in the 70s and 80s. The library features 100 individual presets based on over 3 GB of multi-sampled audio. Analog Dreams is compatible with Kontakt 6 and the freeware Kontakt Player plugin. You don’t need the full version of Native Instruments Kontakt to play these sounds.
The library is focused on delivering 80s synth sounds that are pre-processed and ready to use in a commercial song. The included patches are processed to perfection, with all the filters, modulation, and effects necessary for achieving a fat analog sound. The instrument sounds absolutely fantastic, with the majority of presets managing to deliver a modern production polish blended with a retro vibe. That said, the user still has the ability to tweak the presets to an extent.
Much like the rest of the Play Series product lineup from Native Instruments, the Analog Dreams instrument features a streamlined user interface. Each preset offers a slightly different set of control parameters that can be accessed. In most cases, the user can adjust the envelope, the filter cutoff, and the FX levels. It is also possible to blend two individual presets as layers for a fatter sound.
Analog Dreams is normally priced at $50 but Native Instruments are offering it for free to help musicians who are staying home during the COVID-19 epidemic. You can download the library completely free of charge from the Native Instruments’ website until March 31st, 2020. A valid email address is required to register your Native Instruments user account and activate the software. You will also need to download and install the Native Access license manager to install your Native Instruments software.
While you’re checking out Analog Dreams, why not download the entire Komplete Start suite for free? It’s a great starter kit for music producers on a budget.
